As stated in my other thread, space is right in the shed So here is my beam (s) This is my beam holder it is built with 2X8 and 2X6 They ate attached to the framing and are built INTO the framing prior to installing the drywall and vinyl sheathing ( note the two holes one sized for each if the beam widths) This is the 8" beam inserted This is both beams installed ( can't flesh this way of course) When not in use they hang on the wall I wasn't sure if it would be stable enough at first but after a few hundred pelts it is still working
Every day is a gift from GOD, don't waste it!!
If they have plenty of food, give them something interesting to smell

Nice set up. I use the slotted holder too, but I place beam flat, like an ironing board.... Brackets & Board easily removed in the off season. Solid. No movement. Can be rigged to work bench or fur table. No bending over, no reaching up pulling down. For a senior citizen, It's easy on my back fleshing thisaway...

I have mine attached to the wall with a large barn door hinge. Then I have a saw horse placed under It. Buy pushing the saw horse back and forth I can adjust It to my liking. Once I have It where I want It I just drive 2 nails through the beam Into the horse. I can just pull the nails and stand It up and secure It In the up right position or I can pull the hinge pin and store It some place else.

Do most of you stand up while fleshing, instead of sitting on a chair, stool, or pail?

I really don't see how you could sit down and flesh. Unless you fleshing beaver over your knee. And even that In my opinion would be very time consuming.

No,Vegasjim,I picked up that beam a few years ago at a convention from Kenny at Trans Canada Trapline-the supply outlet for FHA.He gave me a great deal on it cause he didn't want to pack it all the way back on the sunday.I don't use a beam very much but I couldn't pass up the deal.I don't know who makes those but they are a great design.Solid heavy wood-Oak I think and solid frame. It comes apart with just two lag bolts.

If you are in demand to do a lot of demos and workshops its nice to have something portable that doesn't take up much room.
