Today, a local parent got the worse news possible. An 18yr old local boy was at a party last night and never came home. This morning, when his parents realized he wasn't at home, they got the community involved trying to figure out where he was. He was found, laying on an island of a small river with a faint heartbeat. It was 22 degrees last night with about an inch or so of fresh snow. Apparently, he left the party and slipped and fell into the river. He was rushed to the hospital and around 5pm word came out that he didn't make it. A parents worst nightmare. I knew this kid. He was on the football team with my son. He was one of the nicest, most polite and respected kids you would ever meet. Gone! that quick. Life just doesn't make sense sometimes.

Sad. I have a hard time reading or listening to things like this and my heart goes out to the family.

Nightmare indeed.
Prayers for all that were touched by the tragedy.

Detail of the accident were released and they showed that the teenager had a BAC of .17 Why is it that the general public view an alcohol related tragedy differently than a drug related one?

"Tragic news. Seems to be alot for our young men going on. The hockey team in Saskatchwan, and now this! Prayers for the parents of all the young men. Some of the stupid stuff I did when I was that age, I wonder why I made it and not these youngsters. So sad to hear!" X 10. I think of this often, especially when I do something stupid and careless again.....jk
