Gallon Ziplok bag. In the freezer, just fill it up.

I think tinfoil is the hard way of doing things though.

I think tinfoil is the hard way of doing things though. Using tin foil is more time and more expense. Not much of either for one set of captors but over time it can add up. Beav - is it necessary for you to contradict every thing I post.........

I haven't a clue why you need tin foil for preserving castor. Better use for it: inside you knit hat to keep the government from reading your thoughts!

Well maybe you should tell him how to do It.
Actually tin foil Is quite cheap and can be reused forever.
Hey Marine this Is what I do.
I like to use those square buckets to freeze my castor In. They stack nice and take up less room then a round bucket.
You can either freeze the castors green or dried. Some would just toss all the castors In the bucket and freeze them like that. But then you end up with a block of frozen castor that Is hard to work with. So what I do Is place the dried or green castors on cookie sheets. I have a few dedicated for this job. Then place them In the freezer. Once frozen just dump them In the bucket. Now when you want to work on them you can just take a few and you don't have to thaw out the whole bucket.
I do the same thing when I make chunk bait. That way I can dump out what I need for the day and don't have one big frozen mess to deal with.

I haven't used tin foil but it may keep the castors from drying out better then baggies.
I normally freeze green since all that fat helps the castors from freezer burning and drying out. Well that Is if your talking about long term storage.
Don It's not In my DNA. LOL
