All the NRA detractors and bashers conveniently ignore the immense amount of good the organization has done for gun owners and support of the Second Amendment. I'm not bashing them, but I sure don't give anymore credit than they deserve. They have over the years done a lot of good, especially with the youth. But they have also been the great compromiser with the 2nd. I think that the other 130+ million gun owners that are not NRA members are what keeps the politicians in check. JMO, of course.

Catch22 maybe in the past your statement is true but in today's world we need professional organizations leading our fight.
Politicians don't fear individual tax payers anymore. The side that rallies together and scream the loudest are the ones with the power.
I don't agree with it but it's the way it is. Maybe so racer. It does make me wonder why there are approx 100+ million gun owners and only 5 million NRA members. I can't believe it's because they all can't afford it.

I can't believe it's because they all can't afford it. It’s because most folks are apathetic. It’s just too easy to do nothing. It’s human nature. Others make silly excuses why they won’t join the fight, that is not directed at you specifically.

doing nothing is to the governments benefit big time hence the reason they pretty much teach it in our schools early now and push their own agenda instead of letting our youth to make their own choices.

Its pretty simple. The NRA can NOT BE TRUSTED. That is why most gun owners wont join. Most gun owners don't believe in infringement. I quit sending money when they supported that unconstitutional treasonous gun control proposed by Bill Clinton.
Anybody who believes background checks, 200 dollar bribes to buy full auto or suppressors, no mail order etc, makes us safer, shouldn't be trusted with a motor vehicle. They are incapable of thinking logically.

You are correct trapper. I do not agree with background checks of ANY kind. Weapons sales are between two consenting individuals and no government involvement is warranted. Freedom too scary? In other words, you believe it's worth the risk that anyone who wants a gun should be able to get it. I too believe in freedom. But, I also believe there those who have forfeited their right to freedom and their right to own a firearm. That's where you and I differ.

Anti's are among us!
No other way to explain why some go outta their way to demagogue gun rights orgs. It really is hard for me to understand why a few members here go out of their way to bash the NRA every time there is something positive about the organization posted. Finn claims he’s not posting anything negative, but he is the first one to start the crap every time there’s an NRA post, I just don’t understand it. If you don’t want to be a part of the fight that’s fine. But why crap all over people who care enough to support the organizations that support us?
Eh...wot?

And now I ask you to examine your convictions, concerning firearms. Recollect the comments herewith and then contemplate where the $ is going. You may think that by sending the cash to the central office is doing good, fact is they take a lot to buy boats for their president and the rest to the majority sent to a political party that is inept in every regard.
You keep talking about the inept party which we know is the republican party, but say nothing about the party that increasingly has made it clear they want to deprive you of gun ownership completely. Haven't you been watching our local news talking about how the state republicans are standing firm in MN regarding gun control amid a growing percentage of Minnesotans who want stiffer gun laws. The democrats are totally on board with this growing percentage. It would seem you are totally in bed with the democrats that you refuse to take them to task on this issue.
