Glen talked about this at the FTA convention last year in his seminar. He said O'gorman talked him into enlarging the pans on the ones Craig bought. All concluded that bigger pans were not needed and that bigger pans do not make up for poor guiding. Have no idea if this is in writing anywhere. Would love to hear what Craig had to say about this though. Lol

I always heard about how they tried it but he stopped due to too catches. Can someone give me a page number for this ? Stopped because of to many catches??? I know Clint had a guy add electrical box plates to his MB 750s to increase the pan size. Don't know how that turned out.

Andy, glad they are working good for you, you remember when Glen told the crowd that if they used Weiser lures and better guiding they wouldn't need bigger pans?

Wolfdog. One pic of the Lg pan Sterling’s is found on page 7 of “Hoofbeats”. OG talks a lot about Sterling traps and even some about the large pans in his book.
I also have a picture in one of OG’s old catalogue of a MJ600 with a large pan.

Don't get me wrong, makes no difference to me, what works for one person might be a nightmare for the next. I just, as best I can remember him saying that and the crowd got a pretty big charge out of it. Basically I'm a big pan user because I use steel screen pan covers to enlarge the kill area, I wouldn't want to use anything else.

I'm experimenting with a half dozen. They are similar to the pans OG Ran. So far I'm darn sure liking them. Interesting, you wouldn't happen to have any pictures of the ones your using would you ?

Thank you, I've only had the book for two days now and so far all I've been getting on the subject is he likes them , but I wanted to see if he actually out in print what everyone said he said

A little off topic but I remember Mr. Sterling talking about using 13 # of pan pressure while trapping lions. Does anyone know how he achieved that ?
If I remember right Andy , you are using a sponge under the pan to get about 4 # . Maybe you know how Mr. Glen was achieving the 13# ?

I'm experimenting with a half dozen. They are similar to the pans OG Ran. So far I'm darn sure liking them. A month ago I posted this. The key word was "experimenting". I had some good catches. I've had way too many snapped traps as of late. Everything Glen said to me was right.I never doubted his word one bit. With that being said I had to find out for myself cause that's how I am. I just sold those 6 traps on the shed and running stock 600's from here on out.
