With a smart phone you can text folks and make money. In other words, you can do business world wide while you do your business. I think they call that multi tasking.

Right now I’m having amnesia and déjà vu at the same time. I think I’ve forgotten this before.

I wrote an E-Book on snaring many years ago, 12-13+??? I don't even know if you can access it anymore. I got paid to write it and sold the rights to and sales to the guy who's idea it was. I forgot all about it until you brought this up.

Trapper and Predator Magazine has had a link available for years to a full version of one of their popular trapping magazines. Visit all the other Trapping Magazines websites and you will find all kinds of good articles on trapping. Trapping association websites keep adding valuable information to help trappers. Try to join an additional state trapping organization or subscribe to one of the many great trapping magazines they could all use some support during these tough fur years.

And in a jam the Magazine will perform better then a phone as Hal pointed out...

Heres the link to Trapper and Predator Callers Magazines full copy for FREE

I wish there were Hardcover editions of Trapping Books. Yes, they would cost a lot more. But, they look so much better than a Softcover edition of the Book.

I got this book, waiting for me at the library (I think anyway, if it's the same book).

http://www.trappersreport.com/story/Book-I-have-Do-I-scan-it-in

It's the Canadian book from 1987 that people asked about once I remember

Question 1: If I take the time to scan it in, does anyone want the .PDF?

Question 2: It was published by the country of Canada right? So it's not taking money from "a guy" if I do it, correct? Tell me not to and I won't but I think it's ok.

If positive responses I might try to scan it in this weekend.

I would be leary of copying anything for redistribution. International copyright laws would apply if the copyright owner objects and to file a claim

Well I've sent them an email through their online system. If they say it's ok I'll scan it in. I doubt it but we'll see.

'Wild furbearer management and conservation in North America'?? $500 book!

A CD ROM of it is available (~$50+S&H) from the Ontario Fur Managers Federation here; http://www.furmanagers.com/

Click "store" and on that page click "Click Here to Download the Latest Inventory (PDF)" and it will open a page with order form.

And I know nothing about this group except they say they are going to up date that book; https://www.wildlifeecology.org/fur_book.html

TJM, I have that book and it is 3 plus inches thick, full size too. I paid about 250.00 for mine. It is primarily a collection of Doctoral and Masters Thesis papers that although somewhat dated it is very detailed information.

NYHuntFish. Plan on a LONG weekend if you are trying to scan the Wild Furbearer Management and Conservation hardcopy! Given that they sell it on CD Rom I'm betting and copy will be prohibited.

Ok, nevermind. Unless I hear from them in writing I won't do it.

My reasoning though for considering it was:
1.) I didn't see it for sale anywhere "in print." Meaning you could have them drum one up for you but not go to Barnes and Noble and buy it.
2.) I thought it was made by the country of Canada, so I wasn't taking money out of somoene's pocket.

Hey nothing ventured nothing gained. I'll try to find more stuff. I am trying to find good stuff to put on that little site I made: http://www.trappersreport.com so it can "live by itself" but no one is putting up links. It's cool because you can put up your OWN ads...when you submit the link and mine don't show up! And, you get your own personalized link to that page you can then send around.

Yeah I've seen it at Abe for that price used but here it's $667.00; https://www.amazon.com/Furbearer-Management-Conservation-North-America/dp/0774393653

There is one in a college library about 40 miles away that I want to look at before I cough up that kind of cash.

Thanks!

I found PDF versions of the actual books you posted (Fifty Years a Hunter and Trapper, Deadfalls and Snares) and put them up on http://www.trappersreport.com

I don't do ebooks or emags. I like to have paper mags to give away to my friends or relatives.

I can't believe I didn't share this. I've been looking my entire life for a community of people like me. What was I thinking?

I believe important actually...

What: Archive.org. Why? Here I'll put it on my little news site I'm trying to make...

http://www.trappersreport.com/story/Archiveorg_Old-Hunting-and-Trapping-Book

Why: Universities, libraries, etc donate books to the gov's archive.org. Over the years I've been able to read many, many hunting and trapping books there. But we all know how this is going to go. And proof in the pudding is my recent observation of them making you "Check out a book" and "join a waitlist."

Caveat: Reading books on a computer screen really upsets me; I hate it. But you can print the books out on your office printer, read, then toss if you want. A black and white laser printer costs nothing, especially if you get a used HP and buy toner online for $20. Anyway...the information is there. Just go to the site, search for "trapping" "hunting" whatever (boolean searches work), sort by "text" and see what you get!

If anyone needs help finding something just let me know and I can look for you.

(also on the home page some Johnny Thorpe videos I found...You can post too!!! And put up your own ads)
