My Traps are already base plated and 4 coiled. The laminations are for around a new property that I have been scouting with trail cams and have seen some domestic dogs, with collars, run through. More land opportunities around that one ; one mangled foot and I can forget all of it. My traps for isolated areas remain unlaminated. Most people around here think of the big toothed "bear traps" from a bugs bunny cartoon when you mention trapping coyotes.

I used stock Duke #2s for the coyote study. Out of the 12 coyotes we caught and released. There was no foot damage on any of them. And I removed the second set of springs.

It's going to be more work then you think. Frist of all the jaws are so thin your never going to be able to get the lamination material to line up and stay In place. Then how are you going to back up the jaws so they don't crush when your applying pressure.
Good luck

I probably get lambasted for this but in that type situation I use MB450 offsets.. Their on the small side for yotes but they do holdem.. and dogs will just sit and bark, without foot damage..

Common sense catches alot of fur..
Pay homage to all you harvest..
