Anyone shoot one of these? I have a .222 Rem. BDL but am looking at an older 70's ADL that's been shot little and taken care of. Ballistics appear to be near the .223 and it's a strictly a hand load proposition.

just looking at the reloading data , I just can't see a good reason for it if one already has a 223 with 21st century powders available.

if 222 rem mag had't come first 1958 and 223 was what it is with today powders it is unlikely 222 rem mag would have ever existed

223 is just so common with so much free brass available and so much load data and powder made to optimize the 223 case

unless your really into collecting 222 there is no ballistic advantage over 223 with current powders.

if it comes with a set if dies and a sack of brass for a hard to pass up price and you can use powder and projectiles you ready stock then it might make sense.

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

That's the cartridge the R.204 is made from, longer than a.223

The .223 actually was the demise of the .222 Mag. Sure do love the .222 I have. I thought it was a .222 and was going to jump on it. They had it tagged as a .222 without the Mag. Still a nice gun. There's just several now that are more practical.

Duece mag can be hard to find ammo or brass for.

I have nothing clever to put here.

I have a model 700 from the late 60's in the 222 rem mag. I have only shot it 10 times, the previous owner shot it 5 and I have the last 5 shells left in the original box still. I did find dies and a bunch of brass for it awhile back but still haven't tinkered with it yet. This round was actually almost a military cartridge, designated the 224 springfield.

X2 you can say that again

I have a custom gun built on a Sako action in222 Mag doesn’t get shot much but is a tack driver

For some reason I seem to end up with a lot of odd ball guns that I end up having to reload for

Midway had brass a couple months ago. I saw 222mag on an estate auction so I checked to make sure I could get brass. I guess another guy at the auction needed it more than I did.
