That's why I run at least 50% open flat sets My flat sets are blended like a blind set and I use no backing and minimal blocking like I small stick or a marble sized stone.

I like to put them 30-50 yards out in to harvested crop fields. Some times I will put a large stone about 5 feet away, started doing that just so I could find sets if they didn't connect. But it didn't take me long to notice that the large stones really stood out and now I believe that they may be a visual "that's out of place, let me go look at it" thing for the coyotes. I could be wrong, but it hasn't seemed to keep them away. And I've caught as many as three at the same sets out 50 yards in to the fields with a rock 3-5 feet away. Of course after the first catch it's not just a trap circle but a mound
