I don't know how 2000 of those animal rights folks could come up with $6,000 to pay up front. In Wyoming you pay for the license up front before the drawing
But maybe WGF can earn some interest on their money

If I could afford it I would apply. If I am going to spend that kind of cash it is going to be on a Big Horn Sheep hunt.

There were 2 ways to apply one for a tag $6000 up front and the other was for a list to get a tag in a certain zone only 1 issued at a time that one only cost $15 to apply for.

Triple that cost for a sheep hunt.

Ran into a guy elk hunting in Montana a few years back. Returned his horses and mule that a grizz has run off in the night.

Guy was from AK, had a butt pile of experience in grizz country.

Flat out said, “I dont like your guys grizzlies”. Said in AK, for the most part, they respect people. Said ours got no respect or fear.

I have done a little research. I think I will be able to make it happen for less than triple. At least if I get it done in the next few years.

Our bears are darted,tagged and fooled with so much they think humans are their buddies bringing them their next fix. My Brother in law lost a mule deer to a bear but though I have seen many they were on a dead run going the other way. My wife was once standing in the middle of 2 quartered elk, covered in blood from boning meat all day and had a bear walk up within 50 yards. It looked at her then turned and ran off. I returned from bringing a load of meat to the truck and though she was a little jumpy her underwear were still the correct color.

Sounds like a good woman!

Probably a lot like Minnesota Sturgeon.

There is no better smoked fish than an under the legal sized sturgeon, about 5" in diameter. Don't ask me how I know.
