Trying to decide what I want to do as a career, what do you guys do?

Trapping is easy you say? You try getting your target animal to step in a 3 inch area of its whole territory.

I coach solo synchronized swimmers. It's not going well. grin

I wonder if tap dancers walk into a room, look at the floor, and think, I'd tap that. I wonder about things.....

I'm a Police Officer. When I started 22 years ago it was a lot of fun, now I would not recommend it to anyone. In all those years I have never had a single I.A. complaint either. It's not so much the people on the street that you deal with, its more the people who you work with that will throw you under the bus.

Pick something you really enjoy in life and you will never work a day in your life. I've been doing electrical work for 26 years now industrial and commercial and can't stand to go to work. Isn't not the work it's the people that I work with.

I'm an engineer. If you're really good at math, it's a good gig. But, hard to find a job in small communities. The hardest part about engineering, though, is getting through the schooling. The professors want to fail you. Over 50% drop out, so you gotta be stubborn.

I'm a journeyman lineman. If you like working outside and aren't afraid of heights it's a great career and I only had to go to one year of college

I teach (21 years). I like the kids and they are good but would not recommend it now. 21 years isn't very long but when I started it was: learning is occuring, kids are under control, you are left alone. Too many hoops and busy work from the state now. I also farm a little which is great but obviously you have to go big now for full time and have a lot of capital.

Hunting fishing trapping beekeeping, you need way more money than you would think to start beekeeping full time and I do ADC right now but don't make enough

Utilities, water - waste water - boilers - turbine generators. Decent work that pays the bills. The good thing is that it is physical work at times which tends to weed out the snowflakes. The only advice I would heed is if you are a millennial, be respectful and humble. Look for any way you can be useful to the older guys on the crew and they will show you the tricks of the trade. Most of our younger new guys think we care about there useless degree and don't feel they should have to do any extra cleanup or shadow the more experienced guys to see where they can help. They only do the minimum to not get fired and feel the deserve promotions out of fairness not work ethic and performance. I wouldn't trade my job or the time off that it affords me for anything.

I'm a millennial but I hate my generation and get along better with people older than me, I have traditional values and respect people unlike most millennials

I used to work at a junkyard sucking farts out of the car seats.

Now I work at a pepper factory. My job is to separate the pepper from the fly crap and the only way to do it is by taste.

You can make some extra cash by doing lawncare and maintenance. Be your own boss, the catch is you will have to pay your own taxes.
