They are decent scopes for the money and there warranty can't be beat. I have a diamond back on my inline muzzleloader. If your funds allow I would spend a little more and upgrade to the vortex viper. I have One of those on a long range .308 and it is a fantastic scope.

I got one when I bought my rifle 3-9x40 ... came as a package! I like it, it’s clear and sharp view... sighted in nice off the bench but I’ve had problems with the eye relief and parallax! I think when the gun shop mounted it they mounted to far forward for me... so I’m gana try to move it back and resight in... all in all I personally I love it and would put it above the bushnell banners

I like my Diamondback

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

they are ok. You can get a better quality in a nikon of the same price IMO.. Its going to be hunting season soon, and places should be having sales. you will probably be able to pick something better up on sale.

Interesting thread. I am looking for new binoculars and a sporting scope. So far I am looking at Vortex, Nikon, and Leupold because their mid to upper range models fall into my price range.

what is that range?

You can get Swarovski CL binoculars for around $950...... and nothing else under $2,000 is going to even come close in comparisson.

There's a reason everyone says that their warranty is second to none. I'd rather buy a Nikon or Leupold and not find out what their warranty is like.

$1000 and under each. I haven't even looked at the Swarovski as I expected they would be out of range.

Thanks Hup. I have only looked at used glass at some of the sporting good/gun/pawn stores here locally.

these are the newest version. you can find the previous version on sale some places.

id recommend the 8*30. i had both at one point, to see which i liked better and sold the 8's and kept the 10's. now i wish i had the 8's back....
If i need or want to take heavier 10x i can just take my EL 10*42.

I've got a couple of the Vortex Diamondback HPs and one Viper. I like them all as good scopes for the cost. I like my Leupold better but it was a good bit more expensive. Based on the on-line reviews I would not buy a Vortex Crossfire.

IMO the Vortex Viper and Diamondback lines are good glass for the money and I like their BDC reticle and side parallax adjustment.

Own Vortex, several Leupold, Tasco, Zeiss, Weaver, Redfield. I have gotten very fond of the Vortex scopes. Strike Eagle 1-6X24, Viper PST Gen 2 3-15x44, Viper pst 2-5x10X44, Razor HD PST 1-6x24 JM-1, Viper 1-4X24, Viper 6.5X20X44 Have them mounted on AR 15's, AR 10, M14E2, 30 cal bolt rifle, Strike Eagle mounted on 458 socum, NO PROBLEMS WITH NARY SCOPE. JUST BOUGHT A SIG SAUER WHISKEY 3 2X733 , MOUNTED IT ON A 22 RIMFIRE NICE SCOPE for THE MONEY. I have and still shot several varieties of scopes. You get what you pay for, I like good glass, and Vortex, for me works great. My old Redfields, Tasco world class, & Weaver's are great also. I've had problems with Leupold not returning to zero. But that was some of the early models. Zeiss is up their for glass and its mounted on a 243 Ackley match made for each. I will add my 2 cents worth , quality rifle deserves quality glass.Last bino's I bought were Swarovski SLC 8x30 WB, have owned them 20 plus yrs. Sales who sold me the set, asked how many bino's, had I bought over the years. Then he said figure what I had spent, over the years. Next thing in glass spotting scope, Vortex Razor, but not ruling out a Swaro, just not the X power of the Vortex, got to save up quit a bit more also. Just not into walking down range as much as I used to. Got scope shop north of me that I buy my scopes from, gets used spotting scopes in on trades and up grades.

I’ve had to use leupolds warranty (I use the term loosely) a couple times. It sucks. I wouldn’t own anything leupolds made in the last ten years.

Know a guy that accidentally drove over a five year old pair of vortex binos. Admitted it. They replaced em with the upgraded version of that model no questions asked.

Yeah, you can get the little 25mm golf binos for a grand.

But any Swarovski product worth actually owning is gonna cost a HECK of a lot more.

I have Vortex rangefinder, binoculars, and scope. Scope and binoculars are diamondback series. Couldn't be happier.

golf binos? The Pocket Swaro?

The CL Companion are 30mm, and the newest model is $1,100.

Side by side with my $2,500 Swarovski EL you can hardly tell the difference. plus they are half the weight and size.
which is especially useful when you are also carrying a spotting scope.

most days I reach for my CL instead of the EL.

the CL are brighter, clearer, crisper than anything else NEW you're going to find under $2,000....

vortex razors are junk IMO... i get a headache and feel cross-eyed looking through them for more than 2 minutes. the edges aren't crisp, and they aren't that bright either...

the biggest selling point is the vortex warranty, which is built into the price. so you're paying for that insurance policy in the price.
do you know how amazing the Swarovski warranty is? neither do i....which is how i like it.
