Ohio has no restrictions.
I also know that there is a bunch of big deer that don't even get measured. That includes all states.

Skewed numbers. I know of plenty b\c bucks from MN that have not been entered.

The other thing to consider is this list is since they started keeping records. A list that only shows B & C entry's for the last ten years would be more useful to a hunter today looking for a place to hunt.

Skewed numbers. I know of plenty b\c bucks from MN that have not been entered. That's the hunters fault. Not the people reporting the stats.

I’m surprised PA isn’t at least on there somewhere. They have some dandy bucks since they started the statewide restriction. Pa sucks too many hunters not enough deer to go around, there are some dandies around. It takes a huge whitetail to make Boone and crooket.

Another flawed story with bogus numbers. In fact he says it has to do with land mass which is the exact opposite of what is true. If it's not a percentage of overall harvest it is meaningless. Look at it this way. Let's say there is a state where 400,000 deer are harvested every year and 180 of them are B&C bucks. Then there is a state where 90,000 deer per year are harvested and 180 of them are B&C bucks. Which state is the better place to hunt for B&C bucks? All the other number don't really mean much compared to that one.

These numbers are only from year 2000 to now. This article is heavily influenced from QDMA numbers and information. My home state residents of Illinois wised up years ago and by and large enter nothing anymore after seeing the state pimped out to greedy outfitters that leased up most of west central area. everybody else usually keeps things quiet. Private management for big bucks is as strong as ever but the QDMA organization doesn't have much of a following around here anymore.

Totally ridiculous compared with current conditions. Ohio is in the beginning of a deer crisis. Many serious issues need to be resolved. Overselling of tags, practically unlimited doe harvest, killing immature bucks, deer farms, underpriced non-resident licenses and tags, insufficient manpower in the field, poaching, night hunting, and trespassing.

if i ever take another large buck , no way will i divulge from where. i made that mistake and am still paying for it. neighbor (owns less then 80 cares) gives out well over 20 bowhunting permissions per year. most stay put but i fight every year with trespassers.
