So I was watching Brian Flowers' show Fur Life TV and saw episode 7 of the newest season.
Brian was with Jeff Hagerty and in the background I could catch a glimpse of his skinning and drying station... I think.

I'm interested in the truck system he had up. Seems like half inch rebar hung from the ceiling on chains with stake anchors running along the rebar. The anchors have holes to set boards on if you add a hook to the borads. Very cool set up and I want to steal the idea.

I would like to know more about it.
Maybe some of you folks have been there or maybe Jeff will chime in himself.

ken are you firmilar with uni-strut? They make a conduit clamp that you can attach to your boards Then you can hang all your boards nose down I use them on all my boards including beavers. On beavers its best to use two so you can give them a 180 turn every few days

Here is a picture of the Unistrut clamp you find them in the electrical they are used for hanging conduit from Unistrut I found it easier to use these clamps and the perforated angle that they use for mounting garage door openers and garage doors for hanging you can hang fur easier and remove them easier

Yes dusty those are exactly it! they really help organize your fur /drying area but I buy the 1.25 unistrut beams so I can slide them around tighten or loosen up fur

I have unistrut in my basement but, I used the small strut and you have a harder time removing them except for sliding off the end. So I would recommend using the 1 5/8' strut. Mine were drops off of a job

Ken, whats in the background there is my "utility" rack. Its 1/2" rebar suspended by chain from the rafters, on the rebar are a bunch stake swivels so I can slide them as needed. The gem is the hanger, these are actually ameristep screw in tree steps (I stopped using them many years ago and had a bunch) - each hanger is two steps facing opposite directions welded together. Then a 12" or so 1/2" rod with a crunch proof welded on top. You would be amazed at how much they will hold! I use them for all sorts of stuff and it's nice to be able to hang traps from them while prepping them and move them out to say where you are going to boil or what not... I made my first ones about 12 years ago and liked it so much when I had room in the new barn I made a bunch more wink ... Think I have 2 dozen of them now... lol... But, these are just for "utility" use... I do hang wet dogs from them as I positioned this rack over a trough floor drain...

For my fur, I have tried a bunch of methods as all trappers do. I am not a fan of something protruding from the bottom of the board. I simply settled on a hole drilled into the bottom of the board and hang on a hook. Solid boards need a hole whereas adjustables don't need anything.

Here are some pics to help show my setup... all opinions welcomed, we can always learn from one another...

The back "shelf" where I have the fur is about 3' deep and about 13' wide... It's screwed into the studs on 3 sides then the front is supported with chain from the rafters. If I recall correctly, I have 176 hooks which all are set for coyote board width/spacing - could squeeze more if wanted to for smaller critters.

Here you can see some longer ones I made that I keep in my shop area... In this pic it looks like they have some coiled up extension cables on them smile Im telling you, this is a handy system for doing all sorts of trapping related stuff and more...

lol Tony... thanks, yeah, I spend a bit of time out there (everyday) so I tend to keep it picked up... I build it to where I could spray down and squeegee it up... Dogs come in, get hosed/thawed, then skinned in the center (blood) and then towards the end is where I scrape... so everything from a mess perspective is really on the wall side of the trough and I just spray, squeegee and go... drip dry is done over the drain trough.

Yes sir, tin-cats in each room
