Yeah, the more I can plant and the sooner I can plant them the better.

Got 1.4" of rain this weekend. The nice steady rain should be nice for my acorns & the trees I planted this year

Trees take up water after their leaves fall until the ground freezes.

Evergreens need water on warm days in the winter.

Good, I've been watering the ones I planted this year, plus I am trying to expedite growth on some that I planted to create a barrier w/ the neighbor. The past week has been warm & rainy though. Maybe trees (or at least roots) grow this time of year, I don't know.?

Now we have an early snow that should give them a nice wet base to get going

Plenty of water. Root mykes would be good also.

I could be wrong but I think roots might grow in the cold/winter

I had to google Myke. I hadn't heard of that term before.

Conifers draw water through their needles year round on warm days. That is y hemlock stands are good winter yards for deer they take up all the snow and it doesn't get to the ground.

Interesting.

And largely made up. Yes, needles and leaves do uptake a small amount of water but largely that is the job of the roots. Snow not making it to the ground is simply a function of conifers and the the physical properties of their needles.
