I went to the funeral service of a dear friend who was also my first girlfriend many years ago. This morning I stopped by the cemetery & in the fresh dirt were 2 hoof prints of a fawn. When I got home this poem came into my head. I hope some of you enjoy it almost as much as Sandy would have. Rest In Peace Sandy.
HOOF MARKS OF A FAWN by T. E. Geisler
I went to the cemetery today, a little after dawn. There in the fresh dirt, were the hoof marks of a fawn. Sent there by God Himself, I know it in my heart. Because she went away, and now we are apart. It was a sign to me, to tell me of His Love, And how He needed her, and took her soul above. Now she dances in the streets, made of purest gold. This is what I believe, and what I was always told. No hurt, no pain, just sunny days, every single day. Everywhere she looks, there are Angels along the way. Old friends, and relatives, and kin of every kind. She is happy now, I hope that you don't mind. Someday I will walk with her, in Heaven just at dawn. Here on earth you will see, the hoof marks of a fawn.

......they came down from the hill about .5-1 mile away and walked between all of the graves but his. The deer walked all around and on top of his grave and headed back to same hill. A real compliment.

A real compliment. It sure was. We viewed it as such too. He lived in northern california and every year he would ask us to send him some carne seca (beef jerky) from whatever we killed.

Real purdy poem with a lot of nice thoughts. Thanks for sharing.
