We have to use that reverse washer lock On our CRs. I use 3/16ths rubber gas line hose. IT doesn't freeze and It won't slip on the cable or stabilizing wire.

Remember This Is a CR survey. I don't think you can be using a non relaxing lock.

The problem I see with steel Is It corrodes In certain areas and It will rust over time rubber doesn't.
