Always more worried about remaking my set while they lay there hissing an pissn after being released. Had to tap plenty on the rump to get them to run off

My buddy released this one today. He didn't have a pole or anything. He covered it with a blanket and pinned it down with a stick and released. Sounds iffy to me but he managed. I like the pole although he said as soon as he covered it it quit fighting.

Wish I had more time to trap....

I have released more than a few cats over the years. I always choke them down pretty tight. Take away all their air for just a few seconds. They get pretty dizzy and are out of it long enough to release. Usually come around in a minute or two and run off.... I have had them run under the truck. but even then I just shoo them away and they leave.

I always go around the neck and a front leg with the noose so I am not choking them at all. I release any kittens that I can. I also release milk stained females if I can, since she is not worth much and I would rather she keeps making kittens.

Never had one come at me once released, but as said, most do not leave right away.

After I released this one, it just laid there while I hollered and waved my hands. I got on the Ranger and eased up closer. I got within a few feet before it took off like a shot.

I do the same thing when I cinch the pole down I have it in their arm pit and when I stretch them out to remove the trap it helps keep the free paw from taking cheap shots at you
