Logan conned me into taking him so the truck and boat are loaded. He has his “score card” ready to go so it looks like I will be working like a dog for about 6 cents per hour. I hope everyone has a safe opener!

I have nothing clever to put here.

Gonna set for some problem beaver and that is it. I have the truck and boat loaded and ready.

I'm just happy to be here! Today I'm as young as I'll ever be and and older than I've ever been before!

Same here with the rain I think I am going to work some beavers starting this weekend. Don't like the rain at the moment for setting canines.

My GAV (Gopher Assault Vehicle) is loaded and ready to go. I usually don't go for coyotes until after deer hunting, just easier to avoid hunter/trapper issues and the fur will be nicer then as well. Doesn't mean I don't have the itch to go after them though! Have some problem beaver that'll keep me occupied for now.....just wish the rain would let up.

When the mind is weak the body suffers. I was out scouting beaver ponds tuesday and decided I didn't need to bring my sawed off hockey stick for a walking stick, which I've used for at least 20 years. I tripped and down I went, full force on my right leg. I scrunched my ankle, and knee which sounded like cracking a walnut. I laid there for awhile and my buddy helped me up and we got back to the ATVs. Didn't seem like anything was broken, but high ankle sprain. It's getting better everyday, but I'm not trapping tomorrow. I'm gonna try to give it one more day and then go very slow. Old legs don't respond like they used too, but I'm not giving up. I still say my buddy pushed me.

Started to put the canine line 5 days ago,i finshed up today, does'nt look like i'll have time to set up 3 locations west of Warroad.I'll put out a couple pocket sets and blind sets for mink next wed, maybe a couple colony traps too just for fun.Wish we had 28 hours a day in the fall, mabe even 30 hours.Good luck to all, picked up 4 coyotes,1 bigger coon and 1 skunk so far, slowly coming in,have 19 locations set as I type, might set up one more spot just to round up to 20 locations.

Logan set 4 DP’s around the house and 3 cages a couple of days ago but so far nothing. Distemper is running rampant here. We have 4 days to trap so hopefully we don’t go too far in the hole. At least he won’t be playing on his electronics.

I will be trying to find some local rats tomorrow along with some nuisance beaver. According to the weather forecast, may only have about a week to get anything done on open water so gotta make it happen while we still have some open water. Be safe everyone.

2020-2021 Goals
57/75 Beaver
15/100 Muskrats
3/1 Fox
0/4 Otter
0/1 Bobcat
5/1 Coyote
0/1 Marten
1/3Mink

Have three people that want coyotes trapped, two that want muskrats gone. Other than that, maybe trap a mink, maybe a coon, maybe an otter. Just taking it easy this year. I have all the problem beaver trapped already. Going to bowhunt deer all week.

Some guys from the cities got ahold of my number somehow and want me to trap some beaver out and try to get their prized hunting land accessible by rifle opener. Been a pretty wet fall here and they have about 40 acres of field/pasture underwater thanks to a beavers precise dam location on a nearby ditch. That is the only spot I plan to set this weekend.

Spose I'll go set a trap or two.

I sold all my traps last summer. Yesterday, I relapsed and ordered $500 worth of traps. I fear there is no hope for me. I will get them ready when they arrive and see about catching something...

We started off the day blowing a brake line on the truck so that hampered production. We got about 100 rat and beaver sets in and by then Logan was DONE!

Fields are muddy as heck with more rain predicted for tonight so decided to wait a few days before I make any canine sets. Did get in a few sets for some problem beaver and coon at one of my neighbors. Scouted a few other places that I can't get into until firearm season for deer is over. Found a few small ponds with rats so made a few sets for them. Been a few years since I went after any and forgot how much fun they are to trap!

Got some canine sets in and looked over some problem beaver. Now that it is raining again I can go back tomorrow and look the canine sets over. I guess that's why I like trapping when it is a lot colder.
