Remodel the bathroom but I might have to.
Was in the backyard this morning and noticed the stucco under the bathroom window was wet for a distance of about 20'. First thought waterline in the wall is leaking. 2nd thought been raining this week and today is 1st day of clear skies ground is still wet too. Really hoping it's the 2nd.

Thankfully the bathroom is only 5x8. If it is a leak I have to remove the toilet, cabinet, glued on mirror. If I have all that out might as well update the bathroom. If I have to go into the shower wall I already have tile for that. I have cabinet stain too.

The wall faces west but with a tree shading that wall, it gets maybe 3 hours of direct sun. Tree has lost some leaves so now it should get more sun.

Looks like it might be leaking. I'm monitoring the meter and made pencil marks on stucco to monitor. Should've done that yesterday.

Really don't have $ please pray it's not leaking in the walls.

Shouldn't be a line running that far in an outside wall. And a leak should run out the bottom before it travels very far in the horizontal.

Thinking its the line that goes to the water hose. That line runs between both bathrooms and the kitchen (that wall is east- west) but the water is being soaked up by the outside stuccoed wall (north-south).

Is it possible to stop whatever line is leaking? Cut it and just cap it off? Especially if it's just a pipe to a hose faucet? I did that to the hot water pipe in one of my bathrooms. We've got four bathrooms and all galvanized pipe, the hot pipe to our sunroom bathroom is so rusty internally it clogs up the faucet and shower valves with rust so bad they wouldn't shut off.

That is to bad. I suppose a nail or screw hit the line.

In my area where I live, you never run a line on the outside wall because it will freeze. In your area they might get away with running water lines on the outside walls.

I hope you can find the problem and get things back together. The one thing that is good you are saving on labor costs. LOL

Not sure if I can cap it. I still need to gut everything. No way I'm caping the hot with mornings in the 30's & 3 young kids.
The previous owner capped the hot to the washing machine, who knows why.

I hope so snowy. The galvanized line is in the wall and only the shut off valve for the water hose is exposed thus having to rip ou the bathroom. I hop so too. Yup gotta love saving on labor.

Opened the wall in the kitchen instead. Nope no leak. I'm now fearing it's much worse. Could not have come at a worse time

Need ideas.
Turned on the water again at 1715 read the meter every 30 minutes for 2 hours lost 5 gallons. Then I had to use water so when I was done I waited about 30 minutes then started the readings again, lost 30 gallons in 1 hour. I shut off the water for the night. Why would I get inconsistent water usage? No water was being used at all during the readings?

Looks like I'm digging today. Yesterday my pain was through the roof so I didn't get much accomplished
