I like the American Coon Caps and ZCaps. They both allow you to pre-bait and partially set the trap. In the field, it's very easy to finish setting the trap.

In Pa, an egg would probably be considered as bait being able to be seen from the air. Ol' tan shirt and green pants might lick his chops. A lot of good ideas here however! Here, I always make sure it's covered somehow. I have used the Z trap caps with good success, and also with bark with scent/bait underneath.
