Wolf tracks on my marten line yesterday. I’ll set a few for them next trip to that line. I’m just waiting on a few things including my buddy’s inreach then I’ll be off for the camp. Few traps to look at but mostly a setting trip after last weekends set back. I’ll be carrying my camera so hopefully see a few pictures up after the weekend. Bobby is busy helping with fur this year and really likes going to the short lynx line. Morgan is in Edmonton with my parents. She got to watch the oilers beat the kings last night.

And Charlotte is glued to my hip. She watches me work on fur just like her brother and sister.

Got an early Christmas gift before from my moms sisters. They chipped in and got me an inreach. I finally have a few traps out at my camp. Set 21 Marten boxes on saturday. Picked up two Marten next morning when I went to set more. Bad conditions in the delta right now. Lots of overflow with thin ice underneath. It’s preventing me from reaching some of the main parts of my line but better to be safe than sorry I guess. Set three mb 750s last night on my Marten line. Picked up 3 Marten there and then set a blind skidoo trail set and a baited set with a trap in front and behind. The trap behind usually catches since wolves and wolverine think they can steal the bait from behind. It’s not fool proof but it’s worked before. I’m keeping busy and feeling healthy so I’ll jusy keep expanding my line as conditions allow.

Took Morgan and Bobby to check three traps before and picked up two lynx. I sometimes ask them afterwards to tell me one thing they already knew and something they just learned today. Just a little game to see if they’re really listening.

Taking a break. Skinning a few marten and watching the equalizer. Good movie. Better get back at it.

Upside down picture again. It looks great, all I do is stand on my head to look! I see that you have quite the library.

Upside down and sideways pictures are still good. Fascinating and admirable lifestyle. Hope your season is a good one, Ryan I hope my season is a good one too. Hopefully you make it to my camp someday

So much to be learned from books. So many ways of telling stories. Lots of biology, old big game adventures magazines and local publications in this shelf.

Way to go Ryan. Nice catches and getting the little ones out and involved. Did ya get the Ace up and running again. That cross bar on the rear suspension is a joke. I lost 2 of them and the last one punched a bunch of holes in my track. Didn't put it back in last year when I replaced the track. Keep it up.

How is the marten sign looking up your way Ryan? Marten sign is pretty good. I’ve got 14drying right now. A buddy of mine picked up 26 on one run Last week. Lynx sign is really thick. Weekly sightings in town. I pulled my back a little yesterday. Not as bad as it can be but it’s slowing me down. I’ll be camp bound by mid evening. Probably slow down a bit to avoid hurting it any worst.
