Alright, so I was on the phone while running my skinning machine and ripped the hind leg off a coyote. First prime one of the year so that's par for the course. Is that a problem or will it not affect grade?

Depends how much of the hip area is gone. I would finish putting it up and see how it looks. Most likely still worth something given the current coyote market. Might grade as a slight damage,

I did a similar thing last night fleshing. Sewed it right back together.

Doesn't look like it should be a problem

Based on the picture - that is nothing to worry about. Should not affect the grade at all. I wouldn't waste my time or thread trying to sew it back on.

If you were to sew it back on, the stitching would be very obvious to a buyer/grader. That could cause them to wonder what else is wrong with the pelt. Leave it alone and move on.

A Minnesota yote probably still worth $50 if it was from Ky I would have to pay them $$11 for cost and commission and membership and southern fees too.
