Sad sacks Republicans, near a lifetime since the first federal infringement and here we sit. I guess we can look at the many chins of McConnell and ladiboi. You don't rate to own a firearm without 'our' blessing.Buncha sapsuckers. Lighten up Francis. The Republicans are the reason you can still run your fully-semi-automatic mouth.

It is good to ponder such things ahead of time. Decide what would bring you to such an action. Think about whether you really have to do this before you spend the rest of your life wondering if you really had to do that.

I said that you should decide ahead of time because when the time comes, you won't have time to deliberate.

the nra could be a real voice for putting an end to gun control. its a shame they wont do it.
the bigger shame is "free" people allowing it to happen. swallowing the pill cause "its good for you".
The way our government is set up you don't need a gunfight. if you have enough like minded people to win a gunfight you have enough to win elections.
Personally I would rather die a free man than live as a slave. Slavery is what happens to people who are disarmed.

the south out fought the north. had better marksmen and better generals. what they didn't have was factories to produce goods from the cotton they grew or leather from their cattle, steel mills for arms manufacture, a navy to break the blockade preventing foreign trade. they were starved into submission.
in the u.s. today we don't produce leather from the cattle we raise, goods from the cotton we grow or steel from any source other than scrap.

I guess it would depend upon what the NRA left for us to defend ourselves, now I would, but it is just a matter of time until I am one that the 2nd Amendement doesn't apply too. Remember you old men, these young men we send to war are capable of dying to defend the Constitution, but not able to understand it. Oh,by the way, it's that direction to apply for a permit. Wow, that didn't take long. 12 posts in and its the NRA's fault.

It would depend on who is in the Whitehouse. Remember ....he leads tee military and whoever controls the military will be the victor. All your small arms won't mean thing when you have drones and missiles being jammed up your rear end. Tell that to Booth and Oswald. lol

So nothing changed from their actions?
Would it have even greater if there had been 100 Booths and Oswalds?

Well, since this turned into more or less a 2nd civil war thread, it would obviously be fought between the two political factions. I seriously doubt it would ever be a racial war, at least the way things are right now. So, we are left with the political factions and the great divide between them. While not easy, I have no doubt that the right would win. There are a host of reasons why but to be brief, the biggest reasons are as follows:
1. The left is highly concentrated in the major cities and the cities are far apart. These cities would be easily blockaded and taken with the left unable to reinforce itself. This is perhaps the biggest reason they would lose and probably rather quickly.
2. They have industry but they don't really have the supplies necessary to take advantage of that industry. Having the tooling for weapons means nothing without the materials needed to make such weapons.
3. The right would own 80%+ of the real estate in the country. Just look at an election map, Not only would the right have almost all of the resources, it would still have plenty of industrial capability in the small towns and countryside.
4. There have been many studies by various organizations from the Red Cross to the DHS and mostly they agree that major cities have around a 3 week food supply (when rationed) without being resupplied. With cities blockaded, they could be starved out quickly.
5. In my opinion, the only wild card here and chance of any victory or holdout from the left would be interference from a foreign country. If the right was in charge of the government during this civil war, I doubt there would be any significant interference. Other countries would be afraid of starting a world war. However, if the left was in charge at the time, I'm pretty sure they would be desperate enough to use foreign aid and possibly even troops providing they could hold on long enough to begin with. I doubt it would effect the outcome but could draw things out for a much longer time.

The left would court European support while the right would court Asian support with China and/or Russia coming to bat for their own personal gains. I'd thinkbthe right would make a push to the Pacific in Washington state giving them both a great harbor and an international border. From there they would work their way down the coast. The left would abandon the west and try to hold in to everything east of the Rockies.

I don't think the left would stay confined in the cities. Both the left and right would have great thinkers and strategist. Both would try to secure the military and its bases. The right does have more real estate but does the right have the man power to keep it?
Its a fun mental exercise. I disagree. It would be hard for the left to move from the major cities. Sure, you would have factions and small groups but in mass, they would probably stay put until it was to late. After all, anyone would prefer to fight on known ground and major cities are what they know. Just ask yourself, would you rather fight a battle where you hunt and trap? where you know every tree or would you rather pick up and go fight in an environment that you do not know at all? After the cities were blockaded, shortages of food, and other supplies would force them to either try and fight to get out or surrender. I believe most major cities would be taken without a huge amount of bloodshed. At least per capita. Also, you have to look at the left and their will and skill. Mostly not brilliant people. They get brave when chanting slogans or a mob of them attacking unarmed civilians but how many would have the brains, brawn, know how, guts and resources to put up any fight at all? You're talking about people here who freak if they lose power for a day and can't charge a cell phone. Most Americans these days (myself included) have become soft, we have had it pretty good for 70 or so years. However, the left has evolved a new definition to the word soft. Most can't function without a cell phone in one hand and a Starbucks cappuccino in the other while spouting off how morally superior they are between sips. Again, it wouldn't be a walk in the park, but the left would lose and without foreign interference, they would lose rather quickly.
