Remember when there was public T.V.? Everyone had a antenna on there roof. Then the cable Co. came along and said we can give you more channels with NO commercials, because you pay for the service there is No need for commercials. Right!
another screw job. I have the minim of service, I can only watch one channel at a time. I see the NFL players have not learned to respect the Nathan Anthem yet. So I still do not watch that game. Watching less and less T.V. JMO

I kind of miss when I lived in Northern Michigan in the late 70s.
You turned on the TV and turned the dial to channel 9. When the announcer came on for station identification, he would say, "You are watching TV 9 and 10."
When you turned the dial to channel 10, he would say, "You are watching TV 9 an 10."
We were right in the middle of between the two towers, so the reception was awful on both of them.
Watched cartoons in the mornings and Laurence Welk once a week (pure torture). This was cool with me. I had a bunch hunting and fishing to do.

T.V. is overrated.

And the N.F.L. sucks. College ball is way better to watch.

"a one and a two" I hated that show; dad watched it every Saturday night.

Have regular tv now. Channels get static at times.

Remember when channels would go off air? Or having to walk to the tv to change the channel or volume?

I do not know about the playing, I just do not like they will not show respect for the National Anthem!

LOL...that's all we have now, GT!...a $15 flat antenna in the window that gets FOUR public TV stations and 15 others, including 2 local big ones like CBS and ABC for $0/mo.
Ridiculous to pay for 150 TV channels and STILL CAN'T FIND ANYTHING WORTH WATCHING.
Did that for a year, several yrs ago, then dumped cable and put the $75/mo into other toys we actually use, like a camper and a truck, and a gun, and a fishing rod, etc.

"When the announcer came on for station identification, he would say, "You are watching TV 9 and 10."
When you turned the dial to channel 10, he would say, "You are watching TV 9 an 10."

Years ago, I was watching TV with my oldest son and 3 or 4 of his friends, when the announcer said, "You are watching KTUU, Channel 2, Anchorage." One of my son's buddies said in a puzzled voice, "How does he know?" We all kind of looked at each other, and my son started to explain, but stopped in mid-sentence, shook his head and said, "Never mind."

I guess he recognized a lost cause when he saw one.

I am another one who has boycotted the NFL. Too bad. Those guys love their AMERICAN paychecks but they won't stand for the AMERICA's National Anthem. Bunch of whiney little babies. I'll stick to suffering through watching my Beavers lose in College football.

Remember when those TV's were a piece of furniture... my parents bought a Curtis Mathis TV with a stereo & built-in turntable- the first day we had it, our family came home from church and our Beagle had chewed the corners off the console. I'm not sure my Dad ever calmed down!

How many of you old folks remember watching shows like Fibber McGee, Have Gun-Wil Travel, Amos & Andy etc on the Radio when that was a piece of furniture?
