Those Rick picked are good choices
LDC above the set
I use all 3 at a set ,as a lot of trees makes it a slam dunk for a walk thru

That's a great idea about putting lure on two or more trees to get the cat working where you want it to. Might be a bit tricky finding the right situation and still meet the Maine requirement of having an entanglement-free catch circle. Time to go do my check. Wish me luck.

Posco can you guys put them on a short chain and still be considered entanglement free between a couple of trees, bigger ones ,trees act as the shelter also keeping some or most of snow out..
No matter who's lure or bait you use the same can be done.
LDC up high, each lure straight across from another.
Buried or exposed pans on traps.a simple set that rarely misses.

Traps have to be center swiveled with a minimum of three swivels and a catch circle clear of any type of growth that could entangle the animal. Traps must be buried, no exposed pans. No flagging, no animal parts that can be seen from above. No snares. Body grippers have to be set completely under water or in a lynx exclusion device (fisher/marten boxes) an ermine would feel claustrophobic in. The state goes to great lengths to make this harder than it needs to be.
