Sounds like you may be over luring and it needs to tone down a bit before they go to the set. Try setting a blind set right in one of the bobcat tracks from the side. Bobcats always follow my foot tracks so you may want to walk through your set and then turn around stepping in your same tracks.

Thanks, coykill. I did that very thing today. I set two traps in a walk-through right on the sign where he/she has passed through at least twice. I can't say I didn't track the place up lugging in gear to make the set but I did beat down a path that the cat had been using and brushed out some of my tracks with an evergreen bough. No lure whatsoever.

Posco so you are feeling cursed? Lol
There is wide variety of sets you can use but this is simple and very fast too make. I can use sheep wool .in the open here.
This is the set I use year after year and it catches cats I do not know your regs but you can add lib to make sure you are ok on the regs.
Find 2 trees where the cat or cats are going by following the cat backwards make set on each side of road as follows. On other side of road and the other follow tracks until you find 2 trees close together 10 to 18inches a part now brush all snow out dig bed set traps or trap cover traps or not your choice.if not covered block where cat can step using pine cones or similar . As I am sure you have read that cats most times do not move there feet alot when in the set most times just in and out.
Now place lure ,1 on each tree and a little skunky smell (LDC) of some sort.. up higher.
Lure usage well now that is a debated at great length lol
I use more lure at a set than most but I never relure all season traditionally quota lasts about a month. Or a person quota of 7 is reached.
If you got hair wear a hat and keep it on because cats do wried things and you want to pull your hair out sometimes.
And sometimes you think this is simple ,they will humble you just give them time lol.
Hope this helps
go and read the archives for more walk thru s and pictures.
Confirs make great cover to keep some of the snow out your sets also

If you had the sort of luck I've been having you would feel the same way, too. The set I made yesterday is just about what you described, except for the lure. I'm going lure-less on this one for the time being.

You can see the two fir trees the cat moved between and its trail continuing on. I fenced that down a bit and placed two MB 550s with a bit of blocking to guide its way. You're right, cats don't exactly move their feet the way Fred Astaire did. Thanks for the help. Appreciate it!

Another fisher came through last night. Sets to the left and sets to the right and it managed to squeak through between them. It gave me a glimmer of hope when it hopped on my tracks that were leading to a set. It veered off.

How do you not feel cursed? No fresh cat tracks today.
