I ain't much for gift giving. In general when it comes to Christmas, I'm the guy that invented the phrase "Humbug".
But, I (my wife) has a guy that plows our driveway "on demand". I'm in a semi rural setting, with a 500 ft driveway that winds around a hill up to my house. My wife has a beauty shop in the house and needs a clear driveway for her clients, most of which are aging women and not the best of drivers. I keep it clear with my tractor as often as I can, but, I'm gone most of the day, so any snow during the day, I can't handle. Todd is always there when called. I think he kind of thinks of my wife as a "mother" figure. He is always on time, respectful, friendly, and goes out of his way to do a few extras, like hand shoveling around the front door.
While I might be content to give him a "c"note in an envelope with a nice card; I would sure like to come up with the perfect gift.
Any ideas?
He is a deer hunter, has a small time construction business in addition to his show plowing. so, what do you think is something he would really find useful?

I'm with you that a gift card might be better than cash.
I'm really hoping to come up with the actual gift that he might love. Historically, for my own loved ones, I only come up with something I'm proud of giving, every several years.

Frog eyes sound like a good idea. I'll have to figure out what the heck they are, though.

Fleet Farm gift card!! I may not be as quite insensitive as Sheldon, but, I am sensing a little satire

The knife ideas are good. I wish I had the time to make him a custom one, though.

You can give it to him later. It will be appreciated just the same. Most everyone like handmade stuff and a knife would be appreciated by an outdoors person........jk

Perhaps the c note, and a nice note telling him how much his efforts and attention to detail would be appreciated. I'd even suggest you write it and tell him you are usually humbug but greatly appreciate his help and you have a great respect for his work ethic.
These days sincere appreciation are in short supply.
