Thinking of getting bobcat rug made, took 7-8 years to get tag here
So would rather keep it then sell it. Has nice spots.
Anyone have picture of how there rugs turned out?

That’s nice....

Thought I was a good trapper until I started trapping coyotes......
Thought I was a good bowhunter until I targeted mature bucks....

Before you spend keep checking for a quality taxidermist that KNOWS cats. Look at photos of work or in person mounts. Last thing you want is spend $1000+ - and get a terrible return.

Keep in mind on a rug the belly is split so you'll only get a small amount of spots on each side of the rug

Here's mine.

I got a quote for a rug from an excellent taxidermist in my area. Around $600, I didn't think that was too bad. Around sixteen months to get it back.

I'm trying to decide whether to go open or closed mouth. Probably open.

That's a steal. Have you seen his cats? Make sure you check them out before you commit

Not in person. I met him at a sportsman's show two or three years ago and was extremely impressed with his work, but I can't honestly say I remember seeing cats. I had just had a life size mount done on a black bear by another taxidermist and wasn't pleased with the results. I saw this guys work soon afterward and kicked myself for not knowing about him sooner. Two hour drive to get to him but that's not a big deal.

He was honest about the sixteen month turnaround on his work. I haven't waited on a taxidermist like that in years. I assume it's probably worth the wait. That's the second quote I've had for cats. Both came in around $600.

Here is one pic of his work.

I didn't catch who did this cat but that is the best one I have ever seen. Unless unreal in pricing that cats worth the wait !!!!

Looks like you're in good hands with that work and price. Here a bobcat rug runs $1,000 average

Good to get the positive feedback. Steve Jandreau of Wildlife Artistry in Portage, Maine. He quoted me just a hundred dollars more for the life size mount. I'm going with the rug.

Steve is a friend of mine and does nice work. I have had him do fishers, martens, a bear & a cat for me + several rugs.
