Helping my son-in-law restore some moose antlers that were his late grandfathers. It appears that they are mounted to a ¾’ piece of pine that was screwed to the plaque and then the skull cap was formed with plaster paris (heavy as H$%L). It appears that they were flocked? I was planning on stripping everything down to the skull plate and staring over. I plan to make a new plaque for the antler’s but any suggestions on restoring them as close to original condition? Beautiful set of antlers. I used a kit from these folks to bring a old set of whitetail antlers back to life. Pricey but a first rate product and easy to use. It doesn't look like you need to do anything to the antlers but mount them on a plaque.

Hey put them on a deer mount and sell them to some city Dr's to put in their million dollar hunting lodge. Tell them it is an "unofficial" world record white tail. Say you didn't want people hunting on your land if it went public grin

They should be easy to re-flock. As for the base....use plaster as the original, or buy/make a new foam antler manikin. Most suppliers sell them with a backer board molded right in, that way you can attach it to the new plaque easy.
