I use a Milwaukee rotary hammer drill and a 1in masonary bit. Just wallow out the hole a little, or use 2 for a double hole set. A chisel point makes short work of the trap bed. Also use the 1in bit for drilling holes for the Wolfgang anchors. My first year using it, don't know how I managed before. Sure beats all the frozen chips on your cold face.

I pound the digging end of a ground hog tool into the frozen ground with a trapping hammer, works good and its fast, can make the hole as big as you want.
