I’m anxious to try frost scraping, but was curious if a one hand scraper like post makes do the job? I don’t own one, but want to give this method a whirl. Or will a paint scraper do a better job? Thanks and Merry Christmas!

A bell scraper will work.

Paint scrapers work just need to round off the outside edges

Or is the bell more appropriate?

That is what I refer to as a bell scraper.A post or zeph will work-the cheap ones are no good. Not as good as a paint scraper or a home made frost scraper but they will work.

Thanks, Boco. Thought you were talking hog scrapers. laugh

I’ve seen a picture of your homemade scraper, is the scraping end flat or curved. One edge sharpened?

Flat across the middle and the ends are rounded.Sharpened all the way one side(outside) only..And I bent the handle up so my knuckles wouldn't catch the nails. [Linked Image]
Easy to make one.Use semi soft steel(stainless) for the blade so it can be kept sharpened with a fine file every few skins.
The paint scraper works good too. [Linked Image]
