^ source matters! The media in any event they report, want the worst news possible to report on because that draws viewers, Right! I just read, that retail sales have been the highest in 10 years and all the positive things happening with our economy is very healthy data. Many media finical reports spread the news of panic and people sell and that is what they want you to do. Then they come in and buy low and they win in a sense and the circus starts over. LOL

Appears the market does not like the Fed raising interest rates to 2.5%. That is awful high.

When we get used to using money when it is cheap we get sloppy in our money management and that is not just individuals either.
As to CBOT the lean hog near high is 6 months out so the next litters benefit nothing from higher values out that far and those come during the major grilling and brat season which was up for weeks already.

I know guys that are pulling their money out and putting in something safe. Even though I've lost 150k last month I'm sticking even more into it while it's down and hope it recovers well enough for me to retire in 5 or 6 yrs. And pray my plan works.

Remember! You haven't lost or gain anything in times of high or low, UNLESS YOU SELL! Nothing has changed so hunker down and forget about all the noise the media is feeding you. I just read where retail sales have been the best in 10 years and all the healthy economy news is great a positive but you never hear media talk on it. Not much any way.

Hunker down weather the storm and life goes on, no harm done, when markets go up and down. IMO only.

Remember......you can make money in a down market too.

Actually the rate of return now on cash is in fact adding to the volatility. Some folks will get out of the bond market as well as stocks, and into a money market or a CD, Still earn a barely positive real rate of return, with much less risk.................and of course, much less potential for return.

Because as interest rates go up, bond prices go down. Rates and prices move inversely.

The one thing right now is where is inflation going?? Some uncertainty, for sure, so people are doing the sure bet in MM, CD's and savings accounts etc.. they know what they are getting. I also beleive some just sell not knowing what they are selling.

The experts who used the "trump slump" label were a couple guests on one of the financial morning shows on CNBC or foxBusiness. The strong signs of consumer activity is being mentioned a lot today too.

The market been has bouncing along in a positive direction so far today. Maybe the good signs are calming things down a bit?

Things have been going so well in the market for the past several years that I think many investores are worried that they may have waited too long to ring the register and preserve their gains. The big question is; What does one do with all his money if he cashes in his investments that are in stocks right now? The thought of a safe 3% isn't very appealing.

Don't be a bit uneasy. It'll go back up. The only folks that might be injured are the ones who have to retire tomorrow afternoon, and have to rely on the market for their retirement. (And don't have much invested in the first place.)

The price of a bond is based on prevailing interest rates on a risk free investment ( US treasuries ), the term of the bond, and the rating of the company or government issuing the bond.

Sounds like time to stock up on bonds. (Pun intended)
