I know it’s used as a preservative in a lot of baits, but when coyotes get a bite with it in there will they still consume it. I have some dried liver that I want to make some bait with. I want animals to consume it though. Wasn’t sure if sodium benzoate was the best way to preserve it after reconstituting the liver. Help please

Sodium Benz. is sweet to the taste and is used widely in many consumer based food products. It does and will not cause any taste aversion what so ever. It most likely will make it taste better to them.

I have tasted a lot of it in my days by incidental ingestion thru the mouth and nose as it has a very fine dust associated with its use that becomes airborne with use in the amounts that we use here. Particularly the powder grade that we have in stock. It dissolves quite easily in warm water and completely for good contact distribution in product.

YG--if you will use all that bait this season, awesome, and SB will be enough
BUT
if not, add some MP or it will probably mold before next season.
