If it was a feral cat, that would definitely be an option. But when the neighbor starts asking, "Have you seen my cat...." whistle Don't think I could do that.

I'm not trying to get rid of the cat, although I wouldn't be sad if I never saw it again.

Our local pooch police consider any animal without a collar and city tags abandoned. They've even nabbed my dog and it has my trap tag and city tags! They are jerks in my town they will nabb them in your front yard.! Just to get there 25 dollars fee! Have you considered using snares for those pesky squirrels? Cats don't like poking there heads into places smaller than their whiskers. Cut a cats whiskers they get stuck in places

I am going to try snares, too, running them up a pole. I read that squirrels hold their head higher/lower depending on whether they were going up or down, making snaring less successful than a horizontal pole (which won't work in my situation) and a 110 on a pole would have solved that problem, but then, those cats.... I'll set a variety of traps. I picked up some 24 gauge brass wire the other day and will look for some appropriate branches soon.

Not in a rush as the cage traps took care of the few more visible locals, but I know there's at least one other gray lurking around.

I leave my conibear boxes out all year long. No trap set. 1 feral cat lives in there during the summer. I have pictures.

Just a weekend trapper...
