No it isn’t the same. I get mine from tractor supply. I mix with water probably 75% water or so. I spray in trap bed after I put the trap in, then cover the trap some and get it good and bedded, then give another spray, then I add another after it is covered.

In mid-November, I mix propylene glycol about 60% and 40% water in a spray bottle. I make the hole, spray the bedding dirt and sides of the hole. Trap is bedded and the top edge of the hole is pounded against the trap jaws. Then I cover the trap in peatmoss and top dress with dry dirt. This last season I used waxed dirt top, middle and bottom but still sprayed the top edge with this mix and pounded the top to snug the jaws in tight.
I also use a similar mix with glycerin and water. Glycol is an alcohol. I’m not sure what chemical description is used for glycerin. But they both work for this purpose.

Never would have thought of getting glycol at a tractor supply outfit.
My fear of moving stairs is escalating!

I bought it from F&T a couple years ago. They said a 50/50 mix with h20 is fine. It might be ok for most applications, I use it in a spray bottle and anything more than 25% or so of glycol gums it up and it doesn’t spray.

How much oder does it have? How corrosive is it ? I can smell a slight odor in the bottle but I believe it dissipates once exposed to the elements. I haven't noticed any refusals from canines when using it. Not corrosive to my knowledge.
