Just wondering what your guy's opinions are. I have been using MB550 offsets for 2 years now and never had a problem. I am looking at picking up some more traps and was looking at the Bridger #2 Dogless. I would night latch it but I have heard great things about them. What do you guys think?

I’m very part time but have used both. For the price I prefer the Bridgers.

That is why I have been checking them out, I would like to save a little money and buy some shock springs and do some other stuff

I use them both and both are good traps. No need to night latch either as they are already night latched. The only thing about the bridgers is that some you will have to readjust the pan height. Some needs lowered. The bridgers do have bigger pans, therefore greater catch area. I use steel screen on both which probably makes the pan area a lesser concern.

I’m looking at trying them also, they are already night latched.

I have both. Use both. Every now an again the lever catches while trying to set the Bridger an takes a lil brute Force to push past but after the first couple times you will figure them out. 550s I like to set in areas there is a chance at a domestic roaming. Their large cast jaws are easier on paws imo. Both great traps for my yote and cat line.

I have both #2 and #3 Bridger Dogless and have nothing but good to say about them. I have had to adjust very few when I get them. I also have the same trap dog on and wish I would have bought only the dogless. They are strong, well functionin traps. I trap in country where wolves are common and caught and released several. The traps held them well, with no damage other then a bent spring pin on one which was easily straightened.

Do you guys use the 2 coil models?

I run #2 dogless along side my kb 5.5 traps and I like the Bridger . I think it's a good affordable trap and I haven't had a pull out yet.

I like and run both actually. If I'm in grey fox country I'll leave the #2's and just set the MB's. If i'm light on traps I'll crank the #2's pressure up pretty high.

Has anyone experienced problems keeping the dogless set after waxing? I have to use a small flat file to "clean" wax
off jaw and underside of pan.

^^^^^scrape wax off of your latch and jaw after waxing. Snapped thumb in #3 4 coil last season because I forgot to do this on one trap.

I run 4 coils on both but trap in north central PA where it gets awful cold and the 4 coils come out of the frozen ground better. If I trapped in a warmer climate or only used pipe dream sets I would then prefer 2 coiled.

Thanks for your input guys, I think I will pick up some 2 coils, I own some Bridger #3 dogless 4 coils for otter and beaver and they have done well!

I have ran the Bridger 2 dogless 4 coil for a few years fairly happy with them but after multiple coyote catches the cross frame starts getting weak and levers will get bent. FWIW at $14 more a dozen i would go with the K-9 extreme JR.

I run both. Both are good traps.

Overall I prefer the mb550

Trying the extreme JRs this season and think I'll be selling them and getting more 550s

Every day is a gift from GOD, don't waste it!!

If they have plenty of food, give them something interesting to smell
