Why is the serious health issues never brought up as unscreened illegals would be a collection of diseases we have already rid this Country of and who will pay that tab. The idea of a daycare with just 1 child with TB or whatever scares the heck out me.

Lots of things kill more people than AR15s, or guns of all types for that matter. Alcohol, tobacco, heart disease, obesity, diabetes, cancer, etc etc. Some are 100% preventable, some aren't. If democrats (and some republicans) really were concerned with saving lives and taking away freedom, they'd go after alcohol and tobacco. But they're really just concerned with taking away freedom, hence the attacks on gun rights. Illegal immigration isn't 100% preventable; you'll never completely eliminate it, but every little bit helps:)

Agreed. My point was that guns, and AR15's specifically, should be the least of anyone's concerns, and that there are issues that cause more problems, such as illegal immigration, that cause far more problems, but get far less attention.

question...wouldnt a tourist from a foreign country be just as likely to bring disease, as there is no vaccination requirement in the usa for visitors? and since the initial vector for the vast majority of serious human illness is an animal of somekind, are we also worried about the sparrows and mice coming across without green cards? im not saying im in favor of open borders. or disagreeing with anything said here, just think maybe theres some holes in the reasoning. oh and the diseases we rid this country of we did with vaccines. which we still have. so as long as parents arent complete imbeciles who chose not to vaccinate their children for a host of deadly diseases, we should still be safe.

They may be legal, but there's nothing to stop a legal immigrant or tourist with early (not showing sysmptoms yet) tuberculosis, influenze, polio, mumps, measles, etc from coming in. Heck, it happened in 2014 with ebola. A dude named Eric Thomas Duncan visited the US from Liberia, and came down with ebola and died. The only way to stop things like that would be to completely shut down immigration and tourism from countries with disease outbreaks. Even that's not foolproof, it'd be easy enough to travel from Liberia (to use the above example) to some European country and then to the US.

I'm not trying to say we should just let everyone in because we cant stop diseases from coming here, that's silliness. But there are better arguments for stopping illegal immigration than disease prevention. (Financial reasons, mostly)

Have you ever traveled internationally? You need to have at least the "normal" vaccines to enter many countries. I would also venture that those folks traveling here legally have the brains and money to take care of vaccinations. It ain't cheap to visit the U.S.!

This is the list required to visit the US as a tourist, it's just diphtheria, tetanus, and polio.

Here is a list of the required vaccines for immigrants. Note that an immigrant doesn't have to have the vaccines PRIOR to coming here, they are given as part of the immigration medical exam. Also, for vaccines that require multiple doses or boosters, immigrants are only required to get the first dose.

Unfortunately everyone is forgetting an important point, especially about Democrats, don't confuse them with facts-their minds are made up. Guns are bad, illegals are good.

This is the most important thing to remember. Gun control isn't about saving lives. No career politician of any sort cares about that, they just care about power and staying in office.
