I'm fixing to rig my next batch of snares with dispatch springs. Most seem to be used with cam locks. I tried a few cam locks this year and they performed well, but with my constant freeze thaws these days, they froze up a lot and will not suit my intended purpose of longer check times. I have been using Thompson and MTP sure locks and would like to know the proper way to rig these with both type of dispatch springs. Pictures would be appreciated. I searched the archives and the internut and failed to find many images of dispatch springs used with these type of locks. Thanks for any help !

I'm not familiar with the locks you propose to use but the micro lock with a 50# dispatch compression spring has worked very well for me set up as shown here:

Since using this set up I had very few jug head catches and very little site disturbance indicating quick dispatches.

Regarding cam locks a drop of glycerin will help keep them from freezing up.

The only constant in trapping is change so keep learning.
