To the safe place that nature provides.
I wonder if tap dancers walk into a room, look at the floor, and think, I'd tap that. I wonder about things.....

Pond drain tubes
Brush piles
Cedar thickets
Holes and old dens
Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

Minus 37 right now and windy. Deer are out feeding in the yard, our sheep guard dogs sleep out on the snow curled in a ball, even though they have houses with straw. Don’t worry about the animals. They are tough. Chickadees fed all day at the feeder... I have an antolian shepherd named Thor. He has several dog houses, with fresh hay in them and as far as I can tell has only gone in one once. I have piled up hay in the depression he likes to sleep in and he just shoves the hay out of the way. I give him gallon bags of boiled alpaca fat, when it's real cold. He is a tough animal. Keith

I kinda get a kick out of the animal lovers. I'm not writing them all off with a bad name, but... I had a german shepherd, and the happiest it ever was, was swimming and retrieving a ball in 32F water with ice going down the river. It's unbelievable when I think about it. Having scuba dived before, and attempting to go into 55F water without protection can cause you to hyperventilate, I find it amazing that cold water seems not to bother some dogs. Different dogs can handle different weather, I understand.
I loved the comment about "into other peoples houses" HAHAHA

Squirrels will be in hollow trees packed with leaves and other debris. The wind will rock them to sleep.
