I am trapping an area that has an otter frequenting. The problem is i do not have any otter lure. I have tried a dirthole with mink lure but no luck yet. I have some Backbreaker and various fox and coyote lures. Has anyone had any dirthole experience with otter? Any help is greatly appreciated.

And a friend catch an otter in one of his coyote sets this year. He was totally surprised as he didn't even know there was otters in that area. This being the case, I would think a good canine lure would work even as a curiosity attractant.
Common sense is a not a vegetable that does well in everyone's garden.

I am by far not the best otter trapper considering I just caught my first but, it was on a castor mound with Backbreaker. The best I can figure it was hunting and got curious.

Singe Happens in spring. When the days grow longer. NOT from a fleshing bean or cought in a foot hold. Copy that, thanks for the info.

I put in a few drowner sets today. Lures one with Backbreaker, one with windwalker, and one with hellfire. I also made a new dirthole with red fox gland lure. We got a couple inches of snow this morning at daylight so I couldn't find any tracks. I did pick up a small boar coon. I didn't figure they would be pug with these frigidly temperatures.

I pick up peed on toilet materials (leaves, grass, etc) with otter scat and interchange with toilets that I find on different streams. In other words the otters visiting that toilet will smell an otter they don't know and have to check it out.
It does work quite well if you don't have nice pinch points to blind set on that toilet.
My fear of moving stairs is escalating!

Have also used catch circle dirt from k9 and bcat catches...works well, but that's for another thread.
