The new Governor wants students to pass a civics test in order to graduate.

I think you need to think much earlier. I believe it really got moving during the Vietnam War. The anti-war movement was always an anti-America movement. Those who were students at the time have become the teachers of the past 40 years. Agreed

Watching all the teachers cry the day JFK was shot was a time I recall things changed a lot from there on. Osky

Does anybody have any ideas about when school curriculum's began to be more about indoctrination than facts. I'd like to find some reading material on this subject. Any suggestions or any books or other materials on this subject would be appreciated. Started in my opinion around the early 1900s at first it was orientated towards turning immigrants into Americans with American ideals but then beginning after WW2 it went slowly into indoctrinating kids into a more socialist style thinking and then really accelerated in the late 60/70 era when all those counter culture types seem to have taken over education and since then has steadily progressed to the point that we are at now where the democratic party has pretty much taken over the education system for their own benefit But if you want to read something that outlines the way it works look up the collected works of John Dewey its a long boring read but outlines the whole process and how it works and I am sure the basic blueprint of what we have now

History has always been good to read up till about ww2 time frame. Not really if your talking school history books that is, to much is either omitted or changed or slanted and it has been that way right from the beginning of organized education

If you want to know when it changed, just watch some Hollywood movies. It was around the mid 60's when it started to change, and is now fully reversed.
