Before the election republicans had a majority in the senate, not control of the senate. Under senate rules it takes 60 votes to pass a bill. Those rules seem non-sensical to me, but they are what they are.

Don't understand semo. What's your angle? You understand having a POTUS is necessary, right? You understand how this country was set up long ago by our forefathers, right? Having a president was part of the plan and this country has had one since the beginning. So, fortunately for us freedom loving outdoorsman, at this point in time, we have a president who is helping us maintain or better our way of life. But yet you "don't subscribe"? Maybe things would be better if instead of Trump it was the Hillary's of the world in charge, or the Biden's, or the Cortez's, or the Booker's, or the Pelosi's, or...?

We need some forum liberals who can argue their point without just spewing raw emotions and insults. I am starting to think that there are very few, if any liberals, who can portray their sides views in a rational manner, possibly because their side no longer has rational values.

I have know argument against the wall. I'm a trapper and use "walls" to direct traffic where I want it to go. The only position I could see someone take is that it is unwise use of taxpayer dollars.

It doesn't take 60 votes to pass a bill, it just takes a simple majority. But it takes 60 votes to end debate and move to a final vote. So it's easy to filibuster.

I think it's the simple fact that as a whole, people are lazy. Most folks complain about getting up and going to work in the morning, yet about half still do, and about half will do anything to avoid it. Some folks have pride and feel obligated to take care of themselves. Some folks have no pride and will do anything to live off the efforts of others. Some folks are smart and like the challenge of being successful. Some folks aren't smart and all they know how to do is eat, sleep, drink, smoke, and have sex. After a few generations we have about half the country in the latter category who have out-reproduced responsible working folks and we end up where we are. Misery loves company, so they want to also leave the borders open to invite more company in, and next thing you know they have infiltrated the government and they have the majority. Now, we are 22 trillion in debt and they think they can confiscate the wealth of working folks and it sill sustain the entire population of the country and nobody will have to work. They failed math miserably.
Wealthy, successful people are disliked everywhere you look. Look around your own community.......what do most local folks think of the rich folks in your own hometown? It's the same everywhere you go. Jealousy and envy.
And yes, many wealthy folks are dix.
