Take away peoples guns and they are dependent on the gov to protect them. What if they need to protect themselves from the protectors?

I absolutely detest back ground checks which I believe is a backdoor route to compile a list of gun owners. No way that info is not kept in spite of what we are told. Its why I quit the NRA.
In spite of that I also believe it is pretty telling that no one gets arrested for an attempted illegal purchase.
Those who would give up essential liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790)

If you think there is not a list, then how in the world with in 24 hours how do they know if someone bought a gun or guns legally after they commit a crime? Look at this weeks shooting in Il.

When People feel safe, they dont consider that Marty! 1911 is faster than 911...... The only way you can actually be in a position to insure your safety to any degree is to be armed and trained to defend yourself.

Form 4473? I think that's the one I fill out every time I purchase a firearm from a dealer. I never thought that information went up in a puff of smoke as soon as I excited the door.

Our 2nd amendment was to give us the right to protect ourselves from the Gov. I am more worried about the people walking our streets. JMO.

I will die before they pry my guns out of my hands! I will aim for the Blackhawk helicopter 5 miles away, with its thermal imaging weapons system, aimed at my house, and I will take it out with my 30-06!
Fact is, most small arms, and that is what anyting we are legally allowed to own without a special permit, can't penetrate swat armor. So you might as well say guns are useless when people claim its for defense against a tyrant government. China is beefing up on armed drones, just like your kids fly, but with killing power.
And then there is the economic impact. Banks are closing accounts of conservatives already. Domain names are being deleted from conservatives. Twitter, etc are banning those who's speech does not match the beat of the liberal drum boys.
We have a lot more important things to worry about guns I'm afraid.
That being said.. I get to hand over my $800 bump stock gun I purchased , at the end of this month, unless they put a stay in the courts.

Im waiting to see the ammo regs as they tested that theory a couple years ago to see the affects of shortage . Remember that nightmare ? Me too. Nothing in the 2nd protects ammo. Actually that's not quite accurate. Scalia addresses that point obliquely in the Heller decision. He compares the DC law that required a gun to be locked up or disassembled in the home, with restrictions on ammunition. He said both render a firearm unavailable for self defense, and therefore a violation of the second amendment

I think I mentioned before, I paid $800, this was a gun made from the factory and designed and timed for the stock. I'm not a gunsmith. I paid an exagerated price for the gun to perform as advertised. I think it's a shame our private property is being taken without compensation.
A lot of the gun advocates claim this situation is unique. It's not. The same thing was done with the street sweepers.
