Silly boy, you are not having fun at all. Your real fun only starts when you get a trapping buddy who borrows your pick up to check their traps and never fills the gas tank up, brings their fur over to you to skin while they drink your beer and sit in your recliner, and urges you to buy things like john boats, ATV's, rifles, a new trapping shed which of course you never see, as they are all over at your buddy's house.
That is the real fun of trapping and I am sure people here would volunteer to help you out.
Say I could use a ice fishing castle and as you live in Mississippi, you can leave it here in Minnesota as no sense it just sitting unoccupied down there.

I run mostly mb550’s and bridger #3’s.
The bridgers get a good amount of tweeking the mb’s might get a dog bent a little to adjust the pan tension.

I’m with you. Something gratifying about working on a trap and then seeing it preform.

I love it all! Had a lot of fun getting geared up last year. Even more catching critters.

I'm at the age where I don't Tweek with steals as much. I target cats primarily and they aren't as skittish as many other animals when it comes to traps. MB 650s are nearly all I run and they are plenty good right out of the box.

I do not mod. my traps like the OP done.I still catch fur with what I can afford. I make it all work.It is not how high one pay for a trap or what all is done to it.It is what will be coming out in the end some traps can be use just about as is. Each one have there own choice of brand or type of trap that they like the best.It is all come to what will work for the user and how much they can afford i the end. Last year I had ask about the Duke #4 that is 4x4 and for what I was told I got a dozen and try them and works for me and like them. It works for me now.
