Just finished 2 days of Our Fur school. Had 26 students from the UW Madison. These men women our going to be our leaders some day. So we are teaching them about trapping and fur handling.
Yesterday they skinned bob cats and fisher each student skinned One of each today they did otter.
Most of the students were women and some wanted to trap some were already hunters. Every association ought to get set up with their state DNR and hold these classes. It's our further guys.

That’s great Beav.
I’m going to try and put something together for Delaware. Anything to get people more involved that might not know about trapping. Plus it might be good to do for folks who already hunt and might trap a little. Be nice to do more fur handling than what is covered in the basic trappers education course.

Beav that does sound fantastic. I'm really glad to hear you and other local trappers are such awesome ambassadors for our way of life. Education leads to understanding. I plan to add in some trapping stuff to my Hunt SAFE class this summer.
I'm not surprised with the girls in your class or those that others have mentioned. I took the kids from my A&P class to a college visit day and they gloved up and dove right in to handling the cadaver's and holding a human brain. And they were all girls. I've seen girls here in SoDak as tough as nails at brandings and shearings. Such that a man will never underestimate a girl again.

Good for you to get involved Beav! Way to go
She should stay home and do more cooking like Babe Winkelmans wife did, and let her husband have some peace and quiet.
