Who has one? Pro's and con's? Quality? Good shooter? I'm thinking about getting one just for kicks. You can find them with matched cylinders for .22lr and .22mag for under $200. Seems like it would be a good trapping pistol and if it got beat up, it's a $200 pistol. I probably wouldn't use it on my line but just say'in.

I got one I carry on the line. Not the most accurate pistol but when dispatching trapped animals it’s fine. Cheap firearm to beat around while trapping.

I thought it was made cheap, I didn't like the safety. It wouldn't shoot where I aimed at ten yards, it had fixed sights---my fault. I bought it because I really like the grips.

I have one with the long barrel(7 inch if I remember). It is a very accurate and dependable revolver. Just right for the trapline. Fit and finish isn't as nice as a more expensive gun but I picked the one I liked from a half dozen that the dealer had in stock. I didn't get the mag cylinder, didn't think I would use it. Cost about $120. The government mandated safety block is something I don't care for but I guess they all have that now. I would recommend one.

I like mine . It also has the mag cylinder but I haven't used it. I wish it would shoot shorts though. I have several hundred from my father in law but nothing I have is for shorts.

I gave 89 for mine. It serves its purpose for a cheap revolver.

Never had a problem with my Heritage. Have owned and used on the line for 6 years. Always in the boat somewhere under traps, marsh grass, weeds, muck and water. Find it and pull the trigger....BANG! Not loud at all IMO! I have a 4.75" barrel model and only use the LR cylinder. Paid under $130.00 for the gun with both cylinders. Found a perfect leather holster from a local pawn shop. Not as accurate as some of the other .22 pistols that I own but for the price I would buy another one without hesitation!

PSA was selling Colt .22 1911 replicas made by Walther about 2/3 scale of the original Colt 1911 in .45, neat little gun. I paid $250 with the shipping. Lima makes a 1/2 scale 1911 in .22 I'd love to get one of those too.

I got one. Cheap both in price and quality. If you like one or the other it's the gun for you. The most inaccurate gun I have ever shot. Waste of money unless your planning on treating it like the piece of junk it is. Nothing worse than a gun that wont hit were its aimed at. Unless I shot high velocity ammo the bullet is actually tumbling at 20 yds (and I didn't think that was possible until I got this gun). I know a lot of people will disagree with me but I wish someone would of share this information with me before I bought the gun. So here's my opinion take it for what its worth to you.

I bought one 15 years ago , and I still have and like it. It shoot good to me.

I gave 60 bucks for mine at a bonfire off a drunken buddy. I have probably had it more than a decade and dispatched more than a thousand critters with it. Ive left it under a bridge for a few days, back of truck in a bucket in the rain, filled the holster with mud several times, dropped in creek, etc...it ain’t pretty but it goes bang and does it’s job. Mine does have the adjustable sights, shot squirrels, rabbits, and even a running coyote with it. It’s a beater trapping pistol.

Maybe the older ones are better than the new ones. Mines about 3 or 4 yrs old.

I have had one for probably 20 plus years, I have the long barrel "hog leg" model. It has rode a lot of miles and "kilt" a lot of critters!

Who in their right mind would spend more money for a fancy gun just to club too pieces?? Had my ruff rider for 5 years now from new and i can personally tell u it really takes a beating and fires evertime I pull the trigger... unless u r trapping bears and wolves I wouldn’t buy anything else.. heck I even bought another one it’s still in the box incase the first ones quits but still going strong.. if ur looking for a fancy looking/straight shooter heritage aint ur gun imo... I never dispatch from further than a foot away soo i love it

I wore out one several years ago. Not sure how many bricks of ammo through it. Several. Would not always fire the round. bullets were keyholing. Sent it back to the factory. They replaced the barrel and hammer. Not sure what else. They charged me for the repairs though I don't remember how much. Then I sold it. Guy I sold it too was aware of what I just wrote. First thousand rounds or so a squirrel head shot at 20 yards was no problem. When it came back from the factory repair it was real accurate again. I just figured another thousand rounds it would go south again.

I've had one for 12 years or so. It's not even close to a single six, but it's plenty good enough for a trap line gun.

I have had one for many years and has been flawless. For what I use it for and where it goes it has been a great pistol. I have shot a many rounds through it and is with me daily.

Totally agree. I can't hit anything from 10 yards, a waste of money.

I have the 7 inch barrel with Tru glow adjustable sites. I have had it a few years, take it trapping and like to hunt rabbits with it. 30 yard sitting rabbits are common with CCI standard velocity. High velocity rounds shoot high but I leave sights set for the ammo I like to hunt with. The High powered rounds do have a loud crack. I have bought both grandsons a Heritage like mine and they are getting good shots with them. They sell oversize grips for like $25.00 that fit bigger hands well.

Good for dispatch. Spring wears out and causes light strikes with time. At that point you can’t use the trigger and it becomes a noise maker.

Life’s too short for cheap guns. Lol get the single six for your son and he will be able to pass it on to his.

Been thru 2 trapping seasons with mine....couple hundred critters dead with it. Its accurate ....from just outside the catch circle.

Ya, it might hit the guy between the eye a 10 pace duel but gets it done.

Heavy, cumbersome, not prone to accuracy at any appreciable range...

But I have drug mine many a trapline mile in rain, snow, mud, blood, brush, etc... and it has always gone BANG at the moment of truth... At least when I remember to release the hammer block safety. Lol

It's a satisfactory dispatch gun.

I chose a Chiappa with a 22 LR 22 WMR cylinders. It is in the price range of the Heritage and I am satisfied with it. It is not a Smith and Wesson of yesteryear, but it places bullets into trapped animals as it should killing them.
For the comments on here about wearing ear protection as if a Heritage is louder than other revolvers is ridiculous as are the comments about these cheap handguns being inaccurate. 99% of the shooters do not fire the thousands of rounds necessary to become proficient in shooting, so stating that a cheap handgun is inaccurate is not the guns fault. I will never be an Olympic shot and cheap or expensive, my cheap Chiappa as a Single Six delights me as it has wonderful balance, heft and fires when I (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) the hammer or pull the trigger with it's lined barrel and cheap price.
Pllay with one in the store and if you like it, buy it. As for screws coming loose in a grip, try some locktite. I never had a problem on my Chiappa with scews. The gun clerk was high on the semi auto Chiappa out of the farm store.

I have a friend who has one. Poorly made, ugly, innacurate, unsafe, unreliable, waste of money at any price.

Life is too short to use crappy guns! Save money a bit longer, buy a good gun, and take care of it. Enjoy using a good gun.

When the bullet is going through paper sideways at 10 yds I don't think it has anything to do with the proficiency of the shooter.

In order for a revolver to shoot accurately,several parts must line up precisely and that rarely happens with a cheap one.There is a lot of hand fitting to make these things come together and you don't get this in a cheaply made gun that is just assembled from bins full of parts and minimal hand fitting.

Now ,I'm a revolver fan for trapline guns but you can,on average,get more accuracy from a cheaper semi-auto,depending on the design.This is partially due to the chamber being cut into the bore,not into a seperate part (cylinder) which could be misaligned with the rear of the barrel (forcing cone),leading to poor accuracy.

I also have to say that though .22 lr/.22 mag convertible revolvers don't do much for me,personally.The bore on these guns is optimized for the .22 mag and I know I will mostly shoot .22 lrs.For this reason,I like a dedicated .22 lr revolver-and,an accurate one.

Paid $115 for mine. Love it. Has taken a lot of trapped critters. Sure got my moneys worth for the past 20ish years.

Where do you find Buckmarks for $200/250? That’s a heck of a deal! You shoot that pistol better than I can with my rifle.

I paid $129 for my rough rider new with both cylinders. I have never use the mag cylinder. I didn't expect Ruger-like quality for the price I paid.
