Why would you want to catch the last one? You need some left for seed.
The only constant in trapping is change so keep learning.

High roller needs high numbers , hard work, hard work, lots of permission. And repeat,,,, and take care of you for part of the year. Able to catch the last one will take care of you year around.

Why would you want to catch the last one? You need some left for seed. What I meant is to have the skill to catch the smart ones.

I'd choose big numbers, but like Red said.... lots and lots of work. I did that on foxes here when I was young and tough. Now there are no foxes left here because of coyotes moving in, and I'm too old and weak to work hard for big numbers of coyotes.

When you can catch any and all at will, you can put up numbers if you have the drive and physical ability.(and have access to good furbearer populations)

Because of the farms I trap they want them all out and at times you have new ones move in for the next season .

I don't think anyone can catch/ shoot the last one. I'd rather catch/ shoot 100 young ones that stress over getting 10 old ones. It IS rewarding though to get an old veteran.
