this is something I always wanted to try. I have caught beaver in muskrat floats so that sparked me into the thought of beaver floats. Do you gentlemen that use them lure them up with castor type lure or bait them with fresh popple instead. I have plenty of areas to try them. Now just waiting for the snow and ice to be gone.

Yes and yes, and some time some smelly mud for good measure. Some beaver gland oil can also be used. I find any poplar bud oil to attract too many m'rats.

Sort of like using Lennon's Muskrat Super All Call and finding 'rat sets trashed by the masked bandit.
