Don’t have them here but have a wholesaler in Des Moines that gets them and I do like to eat them. Do you catch them like catfish where the bait doesn’t move much or does the bait need to move like walleyes? You use a special boat made for this, shallow flat bottom aluminum boats, lights rigged on the front to see in the water at night, tilt your main outboard out of the water and use a fan motor to drive the boat over sand bars and shorelines and the flounder are bedded down in the sand just sitting there and your basically hunting them, no rod and reel, stab them with a gig, look closer on the fish you’ll see the gig marks.

Never caught any but sure enjoy eating them when I'm back home in the old country.

They are fluke... aka summer flounder. Correct me if I'm wrong. They have a larger mouth full of teeth vs. "winter flounder" w/ a small mouth and no teeth. Fluke get much larger than winter flounder also.

Nice haul! I used to do a lot of diving and spearfishing and some days I would go along the bottom like I was picking up trash and stack them up on a pole spear.

My dad talked about doing that when he was in the AF in Biloxi MS in the early 50's. They just waded & he said a good sized one would soak you when ya stuck it ! Sounds like a blast!!! Dennis
